The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to get together with family and friends and celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease.

Relay is fun, fulfilling, and your participation gives strength to our mission to eradicate cancer. Walk with us in this inspirational 12 to 24 hour event as we come together and fight to make cancer history. There will be laughter and fun, joy and sorrow but mostly, conviction that cancer can be kicked out of our lives and communities — if we act together.

Donations to Relay For Life make it possible for the Canadian Cancer Society to invest in life saving cancer research, lead crucial cancer prevention initiatives and deliver caring practical and personal support to people living with cancer.

A personal fight against cancer takes courage. A community’s fight takes commitment.

Luminary Sales Coopers Foods

Relay for Life will be selling Luminaries for $5.00 each at Coopers Foods on the following dates:
April 6 – 10:00am -5:00 pm – canned soup $.60 each
April 13 – 10:00am – 5:00 pm – canned fruit – $.90 each
April 20 – 10:00am – 5:00pm – canned vegetables – $.70 each
May 18 – 10:00am – 5:00 pm – peanut butter – $2.00 each
May 25 – 10:00am – 5:00pm – tomato sauce 398ml – $.70 each and spaghetti $1.80 each
Coopers Foods has graciously provided these items for the Luminaries at a great price reduction. It works this way…
Customers buy a grocery item as listed above and take their receipt to the Relay for Life volunteers. In turn these items are used in the luminaries at the Relay for Life on June 9, 2013 and then the food items will then be donated to Community Connections Food Bank.

We invite you to become a member of our organization for only $5.00. Members in good standing are entitled to vote at the AGM. New members must pay their dues seven days before the AGM to be able to vote. Renewing members are able to pay their dues at the AGM.

Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society provides integrated, accessible social services to individuals and families in the community of Revelstoke. To respond to community needs we deliver quality services both directly and through community partnerships.

Thank you so much to the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce for their generous donation of $686.00 that was raised through the chili cook-off at the Spirit Festival this past February!

Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society is seeking applications for the Board of Directors.  Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, however to be considered prior to the upcoming AGM, please submit applications by March 31, 2013.

Family Fridays – Parent Information Series: Drop-in, unless requiring child minding

The last Friday of the month is our Family Friday’s parenting series.  Each Friday a different topic will be discussed. This month we will be discussing Developmental Stages 24-60 months.
